It's a............

Girl

Well, well, well! It's another girl for us! :) That is a total of 4 McCoy granddaughters & 2 Massey granddaughters. It is now up to Lindsay and Megan to "break the chain" of girls for the Craig Family---2 straight generations of nothing but girls! Everything is going well, and Twinkle, as Taryn wants to call her, is measuring right at 19weeks. She is 11oz. and everything is right on track! My blood pressure was good, and my total weight-gain of 4. 8 lbs is also good to go! :) Mark and I always said that if we had a boy, we would name him after Mark's favorite baseball player, Ty Cobb. Problem is, that Ty is short for Tyrus.......and that is NOT happening. For years our alternate name has been Tyler, and lately we said we would go with it either way. I think we are still leaning toward that, we just need to agree on a feminine middle name.
Enjoy the pics!

Let the renovations begin!

Although we have not found out what Baby Massey is yet, that doesn't stop my crafty mind from going nuts in the redecoration department. I have been really concerned because the closet in the baby's room is really tiny, and there is actually more wall space in the room than Taryn's. We had once thought of moving Taryn to the other room since it is kinda a blank slate, but her current room has a door to the bathroom and a bigger closet.......My thought, First come, first served. So I preceded to install additional shelving in the little closet and have bought a dresser from Habitat for Humanity. Unfortunately with the lack of wall space in Taryn's room we didn't buy the whole nursery set and now the dang thing has been discontinued. :-( So I was looking for something well-made that resembled the other two pieces we do have. Mission accomplished. Now I just need to do a little repair work, sand and refinish. It shouldn't be too bad. I am going to have to get creative replacing one of the drawer slides as it was missing and I have already made my weekly trip to Lowes for odds, ends, and new drawer pulls! I am a little impatient at times and have already sanded one drawer front buy hand b/c somehow the electric sander is MIA, but I just couldn't wait! I think all it will need is a clear coat and call it a day!

We should find out the baby's sex on 2/25, so I am sure the overhaul will morph into overdrive then! :-)

15 Weeks down!

I am officially in my 2nd trimester now. I went to the doctor for my monthly check-up. Of course they get you in monthly to make sure they can collect on your bill.......love that. Thanks goodness that I did not request Mark's presence at this appointment! I was in an out in 30min or less including bloodwork! That's a fairly long trip for 30min, and I don't even think I sat down anywhere for longer than 2 min.....other than the bloodwork. Everything is right on schedule. I did lose some weight as a result of the stomach bug, but it wasn't too bad. 1.5 lbs. Dr. Bird wasn't too happy, but completely understood once I told her about the bug. Blood pressure was good, I even was complemented on being a good bleeder. Yay, what I always aspired to be! :) Well my 2nd trimester chromosonal testing took all of 10min once she filled out the correct form correctly. With Taryn I feel like I sat there for 30 min and the lady was evidently trying to squeeze brain matter from my finger...... horrible. This time was a piece of cake! (Did someone mention cake?) Anyway. I actually got to hear the heartbeat today. If you recall from a previous post, there were dificulties with that last time. Going strong at 154 bpm. I think the rule of thumb is that a high heartrate(160-180) suggests a girl and a low(140-160) suggests a boy....but things can always change! I guess we will find out soon enough as I have scheduled the ultrasound for Feb.25. I asked Mark if he wanted Taryn to come. 1. I don't know if they would allow it. 2. I don't know if she could ever understand it. BUT we are a family and it would be nice for her to be there. I think we will pass though.
Hope everyone is doing well, and take care!
