26-27 week appointment

I had a doctors appointment today. They had asked that I show up early and check in with the lab so I could start the Glucose Test. It's like a flat Sunkist or super-sugary kool-aid that you drink and an hour later they draw blood to screen for gestational diabetes. The lab nurse missed the vein on my left arm and had to try again on my right...... I looked like the walking wounded when I left. My blood pressure was good, but my weight was a little discouraging. :( They said I should be gaining about a pound a week.....well, I blew the scales out at 7lbs/4 weeks. I blame this on the Easter Bunny! I have no will power, so I will not hold myself accountable! :( The midwife told me today not to be concerned b/c I still have gained less weight up to this point than most people. The good news is is that the weather is starting to shape up so I can walk more......now if I could just get up out of the bed a little earlier to exercise and stay away from sugar, I might do alright! :) HAHAHA! Okay well for at least the rest of this week, b/c I will not make any promises while we are at Disney! We leave Saturday am, and will be back next Tuesday! (o:)3 Mickey, here we come!

Next appointment May 5th. I start going every two weeks now....we are getting closer!!!!!

Busy, Busy Busy!!! :)

We had a fabulous weekend, and hope everyone had a very blessed Easter! :)

Wow, we were busy from the get-go on Friday! Luckily Mark and I were both off so we had time to get a few things done without blowing the whole weekend. Friday was so nice we were doing yard maintenance: grass, new mulch, garden prep and getting some trees taken down. Saturday we enjoyed our weekly family breakfast out, followed by a little cooking, and a trip to Rocky Mount for a wonderful family Easter Dinner and chaotic Easter Egg Hunt! :) Oh yeah, and the SURPRISE BABY SHOWER!!!!! I think that was the first time I had ever had a "surprise" anything! I am so grateful for my loving family! Yesterday we got up super early for Sunrise Service at church followed by breakfast and a much needed nap. Taryn and I planted some flowers, and then helped Mark work on the Jeep for a bit. We then had a great afternoon with his family for lunch and another Easter Egg Hunt. Taryn is now a pro! :) We also like to take some family pictures..... I couldn't help but add the one with the broken bench. Haha! I think Mark and I are trading weight. He has lost 20lbs. since Jan. 1, and of course I am packing the lbs. on! Notice whose side broke!!!!!

Nursery Time

So, here are a few pictures of the nursery. It's still a work in progress, but I think I still have a little while to get it completed!!!! :) The colors take some getting used to, but I think it will all come together nicely! I'm kinda crafty so I have been doing a lot of accent stuff on my own, and my Mother-in-Law is pretty darn handy with a sewing machine, so I should have curtains VERY soon! :) I have been trying to let Taryn help me with some things so she and I did the circle painting together.....I think she has more fun in the nursery than in her own room. She likes to put her babies in the crib, and all of the baby-baby toys seem to be more enticing than her big girls toys. I have received bag loads of clothes from my sister, as well as Taryn's old stuff, and have determined that I have WAY TOO MANY clothes for the child!!!! I am already running out of room to store them! She will never be have to be naked!!!!!

All else is well with us, we are trying to get other stuff done around the house. Everybody is worked up about our upcoming trip to Disney World....Yay!!!!!! Counting down! :)
